OREHOVA VAS (SLOVENIA), 9 July 2010 –Slovenia will take place of ninth round for the FIM MX3 World Championship and eighth round for the UEM EMX2 European Championship this weekend. This will be already 40th World Championship event for the local club AMD Orehova vas.











After an interesting Spanish round which was full of turnabouts, Slovenian seems to be even more exciting. The season will finish in four races and riders are still very close. Four rounds till the end of this season Carlos Campano (Team Yamaha Andalucia) is only for a point in front of Alex Salvini (Husqvarna Cross 2 R). Their results are almost same in every race. Salvini could have some advantage in Slovenia because he has been competing there in the past and in 2008 he took a win. For Campano it will be the first time but he is ready to defend the red plate. Matevz Irt (Husqvarna Tecno B), fourth in the current Championship Classification will also be strong as this is actually his home round. Irt said: “I hope that many spectators will support me all around the track and that I could make a top result. I will ride with my old bike again. I am looking forward for a successful weekend.”







Husqvarna Cross 2 R teammates Andrea Cervellin (Italy) and Jernej Irt (Slovenia) are on the top of the UEM EMX2 European Championship classification. This will be a good opportunity for Irt to improve his position and take the red plate back at his home round. But French Steven Lenoir (Vamo Racing) and Swiss rider Valentin Guillod (KTM Swiss) are closer to the top after every weekend. There are still four riders who can fight for the Championship Title so the top stays open.







Orehova vas is a place in municipality Hoce-Slivnica in Northeastern part of Slovenia. The place was first mentioned in 1234. Motocross has a long tradition there and is important for the municipality.
